American brunch in Madrid,
since 2010.

Carmencita opened in Malasaña in 2010, making it one of the restaurants that helped introduce American brunch to Madrid. Its founder and owner, Marianne Isabel Job, was born and raised in the United States and wanted to bring the breakfasts she grew up with to the city. More than fifteen years later, those American roots still shape the menu.

Eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce are among its best-known dishes, alongside huevos rancheros, pancakes, French toast and burgers, with coffee and mimosas to go with them. There is a family story behind the desserts, too: the carrot cake follows a recipe from Marianne’s mother.

Over the years, Carmencita has found a place with both returning Madrid locals and travellers discovering it for the first time. Friendly service, accessible prices and brunch every day of the week help explain its lasting appeal. Today, you can choose between Malasaña, Lavapiés and La Latina, depending on which neighbourhood you would like to explore afterwards.

Leña

Castellana

For a special occasion

Dani García’s brunch, with a taste for the grill.

Leña is Dani García’s restaurant devoted to cooking over fire, inside the Hyatt Regency Hesperia on Castellana. Meat plays a central role on the main menu, and at weekends the restaurant also opens in the morning for brunch.

The brunch starts with dishes to share, including grilled avocado and an aubergine dip served with pita bread. Guests then choose a main course: options include burgers, a mortadella take on the croque monsieur and Eggs Benedict with cured beef. A rose-shaped cake with vanilla custard provides the sweet finish.

It is an option for anyone looking for a brunch served over several courses, with time to enjoy the meal. Drinks are included in the published menu, which lists water, juices and coffee or an infusion. Brunch runs during a specific Saturday and Sunday morning sitting, so it is worth booking before planning your visit.

BiBo

Castellana

A well-travelled brunch

Andalusian roots, with flavours from further afield.

BiBo opened in Madrid in 2016, bringing together Dani García’s Andalusian background and his travels. Its Castellana dining room is recognisable for lighting inspired by Málaga’s fair. The setting is part of the appeal of coming here for a meal with friends or as a couple.

That mix of influences carries through to brunch. The published menu begins with guacamole, an oxtail-filled brioche and crispy prawns to share before the main course. Choices include Eggs Benedict, a salmon bagel, a burger and fried chicken with waffles, leaving room to lean towards either breakfast or lunch.

The menu finishes with a shared dessert and includes water, juice and coffee or an infusion. It can suit a group keen to try several preparations during the same meal. Check the brunch sittings and menu when booking, as the restaurant notes that the dishes may change.

El Cielo de Alcalá

Salamanca

With a view of Madrid

Brunch above the city, beside El Retiro.

El Cielo de Alcalá occupies the eighth floor of H10 Puerta de Alcalá. Its terrace overlooks El Retiro and the Salamanca neighbourhood: part of the appeal is sitting outdoors and seeing Madrid from above, just a short walk from the park.

The brunch advertised for May 2026 combined savoury dishes to share with pastries, fruit and yoghurt. Guests then chose a main course, with options such as eggs and salmon on a muffin, eggs with spiced yoghurt, or a brioche torrija. Coffee or tea, juice and cava were also part of that experience.

It can suit a morning that combines brunch with a walk through El Retiro or time exploring Salamanca. The offering and sittings may vary with the season. Before booking, check with the hotel which brunch is available and what it includes; the price shown in this guide is an estimate based on that earlier reference.

Le Bistrot Robuchon

Castellana

A French touch

A bistrot morning on Castellana.

Le Bistrot Robuchon presents the house’s French cooking in a bistrot format, with Spanish influences and service throughout the day. Its Castellana setting allows a visit for breakfast, a meal or a drink on the terrace, depending on when you arrive.

Bread and pastries are part of its morning offering. The restaurant says its bakery prepares pastries daily using French techniques. Eggs Benedict, bread and freshly made croques also featured in the restaurant’s launch announcement: useful references for anyone who enjoys a savoury breakfast as much as a pastry alongside their coffee.

We would choose it for a French-inspired morning around Castellana. It is worth distinguishing breakfast ordered à la carte from a complete brunch menu. The indicative price in this guide relates to an earlier version of the latter; confirm the current offering, price and serving times with the restaurant when booking.
